The V-ring also reduces wear and extends the service life of the Oil Seal and bearings. The V-ring also performs well in dry running applications. Because it is all rubber and very elastic, it can be stretched over flanges or other components for easy installation with very little dis-assembly.
The function of a V-seal is to exclude dirt, water or other aggressive media from entering bearing housings while also retaining grease. The V-seal stretches over the shaft and assumes a tight interference fit. The V-seal rotates with the shaft causing the lip to rotate against the housing or bearing. As the speed increases, friction decreases due to centripetal force.
VE Style - Due to its extra-long sealing lip, the VE-style V-seal is used in applications where the housing is abnormally far away from the shaft. VE V-seals larger than VE 2000 are available on inquiry.
1.Special Features and Advantages of the V-shaped Water Seals
    The V-shaped Water Seal fixates on the axle through its own elastic properties. Its flexible sealing lip uses a sm-all contact force that contacts with the axle surface.
    The flexible sealing lip can manage the eccentricity of the axles, cavity and differing angles of the axle and is also able to compensate for the errors made during the mac-hining process of the axle.
    The sealing lip is effective in preventing leakage of the contents such as o-ils and lubricating liquids found inside the mechanical part and at the same time prevents external dust, dirt and other contaminants from entering into the inter-ior. As the V-shaped seal follows the rotational motion of the axle, the centrif-ugal force thus created causes the seal to act in a manner resembling slip rings and is a good medium for deterring contaminants to reach the interior.
    V-shaped seal is different from the oil seal in that it relies on its elastic sealing lips which has a radial sealing effect. The seal lip possesses good flex-ibility and adaptability. Compared with other sealing equipment, it has a simple design, requires a smaller clearance to use and at the same time solves the problem of the eccentric rotation of the axle.
