The function of wiper rings is to prevent dust, dirt, grains of sand and metal swarf from penetrating into axially moving rods and pistons. Thus, the development of scratches is largely prevented, guiding elements are protected and the working life of seals is extended. The Morgan SZ profile is a double acting wiper for use in low to medium duty hydraulic cylinders. It is a two-piece design comprised of a filled PTFE cap that is energized by a standard size O-ring. The wiper and seal design of the SZ profile assists the primary rod seal in preventing leakage by helping seal fluid in the cylinder when the rod extends. When the cylinder rod retracts, the outside sealing edge prevents contamination from entering the system. Morgan's SZ profile will retrofit non-Morgan wipers of similar design.
 
Design standard
The size and tolerance of the groove and the product of the SZ Dust Ring refer to the AD standard series of Parker Company and WE3 standard series of Trelleborg Company.

Working temperature: -30°C to +200 °C.
Surface speed: ≤5 m/s.
Standard Compounds:
Wiper ring:     Modified PTFE with 40% bronze.
O-ring:        NBR elastomer with approx,70 Shore A.
FKM elastomer with approx,70 Shore A.
